Job description
Job Title: Home care assistant.
Main purpose of job:
To provide care and other tasks as specified User’s individual service/care plan, to a high standard in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
Responsible to:
Manager.
Main tasks of the job role:
- Assisting with personal care including bathing, washing, shaving, oral hygiene and hair care, dressing, undressing and assist with all toilet and continence requirements, Ensuring that Service Users have given their consent prior to any examination, care, treatment, or support taking place and that all Service Users are treated with respect.
- General light domestic duties including laundry and ironing, Assisting with the cooking of light meals, preparing snacks and the provision of beverages.
- Carrying out tasks as specified in the Service User’s individual service/care plan, taking action to enable the Service User to carry out as much self-care and other activities as possible, helping with handling the service users’ money in respect of collecting pensions and the payment of bills including shopping.
- Ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept.
- Assisting with pet care, including feeding and walking
- Transporting service users to local amenities and to medical appointments,
- Contributing to accurate and detailed record keeping whilst maintaining the Service.
- Contribute to the team effort.
- Assisting with personal care including bathing, washing, shaving, oral hygiene and hair care, dressing, undressing and assist with all toilet and continence requirements.
- Ensuring that Service Users have given their consent prior to any examination, care, treatment, or support taking place and that all Service Users are treated with respect.
- General light domestic duties including laundry and ironing.
- Assisting with meal preparation, cooking of light meals, preparing snacks and the provision of beverages.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

We have work in:
- Middlesbrough, Stockton, Yarm, Egglescliffe, Eaglescliffe, Norton, Billingham and the surrounding areas.
- Newcastle, Gateshead, Birtley and the surrounding areas.
Mileage is paid at 45p per mile
We have shifts tailored to suit days, afternoons/evenings and over nights/waking and sleeping are available, your shifts will usually include one weekend in two and flexibility is essential, care experience is NOT necessary, but you must be aged at least 18, we provide you with Uniform and pay for your DBS check, you’ll get a mobile phone, so you can work safely and efficiently.
